Children & Youth Services is accepting applications for a full-time . Qualified candidates shall have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a closely related field, including Human Services, Criminal Justice, Psychology, or a major of which a substantial component is working with social service issues. Additionally, one year of casework experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Must have a valid driver's license, satisfactory pre-employment drug screen, FBI fingerprinting, background check, Child Abuse Clearance and completion of the computer skills testing.
Starting Salary: $41,981.00 (Grade J).
Summary: The primary purpose for this position is to assist with the development and coordination of a wide variety of activities associated with the Agency's resource families. This will include planning activities for recruitment and retention, as well as the orientation, preparation and training programs for resource families. This individual will be available to handle all requests for placement of children in the Agency's custody and to receive all inquiries from prospective resource families. This worker will also carry a small caseload of intakes. This position will be supervised by the Assistant Director of the Agency.

- Respond to requests for placements by reviewing the child's needs with the resource family and casework staff to facilitate successful placement.
- Attempt to select placement for a child with a resource family that best meets the child's permanency needs.
- Coordinate requests for respite care.
- Coordinate day care requests for children in placement.
- Coordinate routine medical, dental, vision care of foster children with the resource parent and Caseworker.
- Handle all inquiries from prospective resource applicants and provide the necessary follow-up throughout the application and approval process.
- Develop and maintain a training program for perspective resource parents.
- Complete all Resource Families within 60 days of their completing training and/or the receipt of necessary paperwork. If extenuating circumstances exist in which the resource family will not have all necessary paperwork and training complete in the 60-day time frame, a discussion will be held with the Supervisor for further direction.
