- Summary:** This dual-role position supports both the GIS Department and the County Engineering/Planning Office. The employee performs professional Geographic Information Systems (GIS) duties including spatial data management, analysis, and map production, while also providing computer aided drafting services to the County Engineer through the preparation of technical drawings and details using AutoCAD.
Primary GIS Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform assigned GIS projects and tasks in accordance with established timelines, quality standards, and client expectations.
- Collect, review, and validate spatial and tabular data from internal and external sources to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain and update enterprise GIS databases including parcel data, street centerlines and addressing, zoning and land use, boundary layers, and other county-maintained datasets.
- Perform field data collection using GPS equipment to capture, verify, or update spatial features to integrate into the County GIS.
- Create high-quality digital and print map products to support County departments such as Assessment, Emergency Services, and Planning.
- Perform spatial analysis and generate reports to support County departments.
- Develop, test, and implement efficient GIS workflows and procedures following data standards.
- Assist in the administration and support of web-based GIS applications and services.
- Provide technical GIS support and assistance to County Staff.
