The Information Technology Generalist is to provide timely, accurate and efficient support to Clinton County information system end users and end points. Essential Functions

- Provide first-level and advanced technical support to municipal staff, elected officials, and departments.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues across multiple facilities.
- Log, track, and close service requests using the department's ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Perform regular updates to operating systems, applications, and antivirus software.
- Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and take proactive corrective actions.
- Deploy, upgrade, and repair computer systems, printers, and other IT hardware.
- Maintain accurate inventory of all IT equipment and ensure proper documentation.
- Coordinate with vendors for warranty claims and replacement parts.
- Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts and permissions in accordance with security policies.
- Provide instruction and guidance to staff on proper use of systems, applications, and data handling procedures.
- Assist departments with technology-related needs to improve efficiency and public service delivery.
- Communicate effectively with non-technical personnel to explain technical issues and solutions clearly.
- Assist in the deployment of new technology systems, software upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
- Provide technical support during emergencies, after-hours maintenance, or critical system outages.
- Assist in the recovery and continuity of IT operations following power failures, weather events, or other disruptions.
- Maintains regular and on-time attendance.
- Performs other related functions as assigned or required.
