What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technology Tech I position at Clinton City Schools - NC?
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Systematically troubleshoot technology equipment
2. Repair, maintain, and upgrade technology equipment
3. Use a work-order tracking system for routine repair and maintenance of technology equipment
4. Maintain an inventory of components needed to make timely repairs
5. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals
6. Operate standard and specialized electronics devices in testing and troubleshooting technology-related equipment
7. Refer complex problems to higher-level technical support
8. Maintain documentation regarding operating procedures and service records related to hardware and software
9. Maintain general knowledge of computers and related technology devices
10. Maintain basic knowledge of electronic principles and fundamentals of physics as applied in electronics
11. Maintain basic knowledge of mathematical principles as applied in electronic circuit analysis
12. Communicate effectively with end users
13. Communicate with staff at the building level to ensure proper operating procedures and policies are followed
14. Participate in long and short-range technology planning
15. Attend classes, seminars, conferences, and review professional literature to enhance knowledge of trends and
developments related to hardware systems and software applications
16. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor
Work in this classification is considered medium physical work requiring the exertion of up to 40 pounds of force
occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force, frequently, up to 10 pounds of force, and constantly, to move objects.
Must be able to:
• walk, lift, reach, stoop, sit, squat, bend, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and/or type for extended
periods of time
