Nature of Work
The SIS Training and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership, training, and support to elementary school data managers and staff in the effective use of the district’s Student Information System (Infinite Campus). This position also oversees the district’s online registration system, ensuring a smooth and user-friendly experience for families and school personnel.
Qualifications and Licensure
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in education or information science; or Associate’s degree in Education, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience training and supporting users in a Student Information System (Infinite Campus preferred).
- Knowledge of K-12 data management practices and North Carolina state reporting processes.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to translate technical information into clear, user-friendly language.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for elementary school data managers, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical support.
- Design, develop, and deliver training for data managers, school administrators, and other district staff on SIS functionality, data accuracy, and reporting best practices.
- Lead ongoing professional development programs to enhance user skills and ensure compliance with district and state requirements.
- Manage and maintain the district’s online registration system within Infinite Campus, including configuration, updates, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain and update standards-based report cards within Infinite Campus.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the SIS supports instructional, operational, and communication needs.
- Create and maintain user documentation, tutorials, and help resources for school staff.
- Support data integrity initiatives by reviewing and validating student information across schools.
- Provide excellent customer service and build strong working relationships with school personnel.

Special Requirements (if applicable)
- Knowledge of computers, computer commands, peripherals, and various operating systems, and general office machines.Knowledge of the attendance regulations in the Student Attendance and School Accounting Manual.
- Thorough knowledge of data management, policies and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of district policies, processes and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of specific software types and reports used in a school system.
- Ability to generate typical business correspondence exhibiting strong skills in vocabulary, grammar, and spelling.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions with little direct supervision; to sort and place items in proper sequence; to compare and compile written information carefully and accurately.
- Ability to learn specialized software or equipment based on district need.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to develop and maintain user manuals related to software systems supported.
- Ability to generate applicable reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors and the general public.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in accordance with district, state, and federal privacy requirements.
