Job Title: QC Lab Technician - 2nd Shift
Work Location: Tarrant County, Texas
Summary:
The QC Lab Technician supports laboratory operations by conducting chemical analyses, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation. This role involves testing raw materials and finished products, troubleshooting equipment, and upholding safety standards while working collaboratively within a laboratory environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct chemical and physical analyses of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using chromatography, spectroscopy, and spectrophotometry techniques.
- Maintain laboratory glassware and equipment by cleaning, sterilizing, and performing preventive maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and arranging repairs as needed.
- Prepare, collect, and test samples, solutions, compounds, and reagents for laboratory experiments and quality control purposes.
- Document and interpret data accurately in laboratory notebooks and daily logs, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and effective record keeping.
- Inventory laboratory supplies, place orders, verify receipts, and ensure all materials are available for ongoing laboratory operations.
- Analyze and report test results in a timely manner, resolving issues by evaluating data and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Inspect annual retain samples at designated intervals and keep up-to-date with relevant scientific and technical developments.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements, utilizing protective equipment and maintaining a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Food Science, or a related discipline preferred.
- Previous practical laboratory work experience required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple job duties.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, write reports, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpretation of bar graphs.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions from technical instructions.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Explorer, and email.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently; capable of standing, walking, climbing, crouching, and reaching as required by laboratory and production facility tasks.
- Willingness to work 2nd shift (2pm-10:30pm) and comply with all safety and protective equipment requirements.
