Position Overview:

The Environmental Monitoring Analyst will be a member of the Quality Control Microbiology department. The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be performing routine environmental monitoring of the GMP cleanrooms at Beam’s manufacturing facility in RTP, North Carolina. This role will have additional technical tasks and duties to support the EM Program and QC Microbiology team. The incumbent will follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions to complete duties. The Environmental Monitoring Analyst should have a general understanding of basic microbiological concepts, with prior knowledge of aseptic technique preferred. The Environmental Monitoring Analyst will work with colleagues in other Quality Control teams, as well as colleagues in QA, Manufacturing, and Validation to ensure that the EM Program is executed as per established requirements. The shift for this position will be First Shift, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Occasional work on weekends or after hours may be required as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform routine environmental monitoring consisting of collecting active air samples, surface samples, and particulate samples
• Set up and operate EM equipment in the GMP cleanrooms
• Plate reading/colony cCounting, and entering results into the LIMS system
• Streaking plates to isolate recovered organisms
• Execute additional technical tasks in support of the QC Microbiology Team, potentially including but not limited to: media growth promotion, Gram staining, bioburden, endotoxin, and rapid sterility testing
• Perform Lab Maintenance Duties
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• AS/BS in a scientific discipline
• 0-4 years relevant experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well with others
• Excellent time management skills
• Consistent delivery of high-quality work at all times
