Position Summary:
The Analytical Chemist will develop and validate robust analytical methods for our drug substances and products by leveraging modern techniques with a strong focus on separation sciences. These techniques will be used for characterizing identity, purity, sequence, and impurities in peptides.Ideal candidates will be creative, energetic, and passionate, with a broad knowledge of analytical techniques to support process and product development and quality controls.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and validate accurate, precise, and robust analytical methods for use in process development, characterization, and quality control of novel peptides.
- Collaborate with scientists across the organization, including process/product development, Medicinal Chemistry, Discovery, and Data Science, to enable the best science and drive the development.
- Conduct routine and non-routine analysis of crude peptides, purified peptides, intermediates and final drug substances and products.
- Support methods for manufacturing and development efforts at CDMOs.
- Analyze data, plan / design / execute experiments, and report results.
- Support modernization efforts for lab operations.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry or Biochemistry
- A BS with 6 , a MS with 2 , or a PhD with 0 years in of industry experience.
- Expertise and experience in separation techniques such as HPLC/UPLC and various detection methods such as MS, CAD & ELSD, for characterization.
- Proficiency with Data Sciences (including High Throughput Experimentation, Data-Rich Experimentation) and ML / AI a plus.
- Method and tech transfer with contract labs/manufactures experience is preferred.
- Experience working in the biopharmaceutical industry/GxP environments and ICH guidance for analytical methods is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organization, strategic, and cross-functional team skills.
- Able to work on-site and attend in-person meetings.
