The Compliance & Legal Affairs Director oversees the company’s Compliance Program and provides Legal Oversight for various business transactions. This position functions as an independent and objective authority ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, internal policies, and ethical standards. Additionally, the role provides legal review and support for contracts, confidentiality agreements, and corporate transactions. Location: Aiea, HI Status: Full-time | Benefits Eligible Compensation: $150-$170k annually, Commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications Essential Responsibilities: Compliance Oversight Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for the Compliance Program. Monitor compliance activities across departments and ensure adherence to regulatory standards. Investigate and resolve reported compliance concerns, including hotline calls or policy violations. Serve as the liaison with Sonic Healthcare USA (SHUSA) on compliance matters and reporting. Provide compliance training and education to staff and management. Manage the Employee Health & Safety Manager and oversee programs including CAP training, urinalysis, safety, pandemic response, and disaster recovery. Promote a culture of integrity and ethical conduct across the organization. Legal Oversight Draft, review, and negotiate confidentiality agreements, letters of intent, leases, and contracts. Support corporate transactions including acquisitions, financing, and dispositions. Provide counsel on legal risk mitigation and compliance with healthcare regulations. Coordinate with and oversee outside counsel as needed for litigation or specialized legal matters. Partner with SHUSA Legal Counsel to ensure compliance with all reporting and legal requirements. Manage employment-related legal matters and assist with dispute resolution to minimize company liability. Leadership & Collaboration Supervise one administrative staff member and collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Operations, and Finance. Develop and lead compliance and legal training programs. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on compliance, legal, and risk management strategies. Qualifications Education: Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree highly preferred. Experience: Minimum 5 years in a healthcare organization with demonstrated leadership, compliance, and project management experience. Familiarity with medical laboratory regulations, operational processes, and quality assurance standards. Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Must pass pre-employment and periodic drug screenings.
