Job Summary:
The Cook will be responsible for preparing and serving meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents. This includes following prescribed menus if needed, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards, and ensuring a positive dining experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, experience in a healthcare, senior living, or restaurant environment, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook delicious and visually appealing meals, catering to local tastes
- Ensure all food preparation meets the required standards for quality and presentation
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Assist in menu planning and contribute creative ideas for new dishes
- Adhere to food safety regulations at all times
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation
- Assist in inventory management and ordering food and kitchen supplies, while adhering to a monthly budget
Experience:
- Proven experience working as a Cook or Chef
- Proficiency in food handling, meal preparation, and culinary techniques
- Knowledge of knife skills and dining practices
- Familiarity with menu planning and creating balanced meals
- Understanding of food safety guidelines and procedures
