Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling using aseptic techniques to ensure specimen integrity.
- Collect, label, and handle specimens accurately according to laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Obtain vital signs and assess patient physiology to ensure safe and effective specimen collection.
- Provide exceptional patient service by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and maintaining comfort throughout the process.
- Document all collection details precisely in electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems and enter data accurately for seamless lab processing.
- Adhere to safety standards such as basic life support (BLS) and CPR, ensuring patient safety during all interactions.
- Transport specimens securely to designated laboratories while maintaining proper handling and storage conditions.
Requirements
- Proven laboratory experience with knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen handling.
- Certified in phlebotomy with venipuncture expertise; additional skills in blood sampling from pediatrics and geriatrics are highly valued.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical laboratory practices.
- Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR; hospital or healthcare environment experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for data entry, documentation, and communication purposes.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely when necessary and perform physical tasks involved in specimen collection.
- Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care across diverse populations.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
