SUMMARY

This position assist the cellar maintenance team with routine maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for opening or closing winery facility.
- Oversee groups of staff. Directing workflow and cellar operations.
- Prepare training sessions and keep records of regular staff training.
- Perform all cellar operations; including equipment sanitation, wine movements, barrel work, topping, and filtration.
- Complete winery work orders promptly and records information accurately. Assist other staff with accurate record keeping.
- Bottling line work.
- Collect wine samples for laboratory analysis.
- Continue to improve the safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of the winery.
- Work shifts, overtime and weekends during harvest season - generally from August 1st late November.
- Operate grape processing equipment including weigh scale, hoist, crusher/de stemmer, conveyors and presses.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
- Minimum of 5 years winery cellar experience.
- Supervisory experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED, basic math calculations.
- Able to work a flexible schedule as needed, including extra hours during harvest
- Experience operating winery equipment
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to drive a forklift or become forklift operator certified preferred
- Capacity to drive a company vehicle preferred
Physical Demands
- Able to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds over moderate distances.
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, reach, crawl and walk.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Ability to pull or push objects over moderate distances.
