Climb is hiring a creative, innovative, skilled and collaborative Routesetter. We are primarily looking for an individual who displays a desire to learn climbing movements, body awareness and techniques that make for good climbers, not strong climbers. The company highly values innovation, cutting edge ideas and forward thinking that will help usher in a new climbing philosophy and sustainable approach to the sport that focuses on being a skilled climber. The individual must give and receive feedback to communicate this understanding and create a product that teaches movement to their community. The expectation is for these individuals to assist in bringing forth new, challenging ideas that test the limits of what’s possible and change the way not only the Climb community approaches climbing, but how the industry as a whole approaches climbing.

- Knowledge of rope systems as they pertain to climbing and safety
- Passion for climbing, belaying and safety procedures

- Consistent engagement with gym members to understand their needs as climbers and as a community
- Communicate with Climb staff to help support gym and youth programs, groups and setting goals
- Perform weekly safety inspections and maintain inspection logs
- Report any workplace safety, quality or personnel issues to the Head Routesetter immediately
- Adherence to the turnover, distribution and productivity goals laid out by the Head Routesetter as well as the quality and consistency desired.
- Maintain an understanding of the working condition of wall and safety equipment on a daily basis and perform improvements when necessary
- Responsible for full daily setting loads and any additional responsibilities laid out by the Head Routesetter such as hold washing and facility maintenance
- Desire to grow within Climb’s route setting program
Scheduling Compensation
- 24 hours per week
- 3 days per week
- Weekdays, some nights and weekends based on events
- Compensation based upon experience
- Gym membership
- 1 free pair of climbing shoes per each 1000 hours worked
Desired Qualifications
- Climb lead belay approval
- Ability to lift 50 lbs while walking on uneven surfaces
- Understanding of setting processes
- 2 years bouldering and sport climbing experience
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Ability to climb 5.12 and V6 and forerun up to 5.13 and V8
- USAC Level 1 Certification
