Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a friendly and positive attitude upon arrival, making them feel valued and comfortable from the moment they walk in
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using Toast Tables, ensuring accurate tracking of guest seating times
- Coordinate management to optimize seating arrangements and minimize wait times, enhancing overall guest satisfaction
- Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information about the restaurant, menu options, and reservation details while practicing excellent phone etiquette
- Maintain a clean, organized host stand and waiting area to create an inviting first impression for all guests
- Assist guests with special requests or accommodations, demonstrating attentive guest relations and hospitality skills
- Support team members during busy periods by providing courteous assistance and ensuring seamless guest flow
Experience
- Prior experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is key
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests, team members, and management
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such Toast enhances efficiency in reservation management
- Previous hotel or guest services experience is a plus, demonstrating adaptability in customer-focused environments
- Knowledge of hospitality best practices including guest relations, serving basics, and phone etiquette is highly desirable
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced setting
