Duties & ResponsibilitiesMechanical Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the design of various projects nationwide. Your design tasks will include creation of plans, schematics, equipment selection, load calculations, and specifications. This position requires the engineer to effectively and personably work with senior level associates in all efforts to execute each project. The preparation of the CAD design documents will be performed with each project. This person is expected to work closely with clients and project managers to ensure the success of each project from inception to completion. Responsibilities may include attending project meetings, which will require traveling to project locations to perform surveys and other tasks.Key Responsibilities:Power System Design: Collaborate with a team of engineers to design building electrical systems or building power systems, ensuring they meet client requirements and adhere to industry standards.Schematic Design: Create detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and specifications for power distribution systems.Load Analysis: Perform load calculations to determine power requirements and distribution strategies.Equipment Selection: Select appropriate electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers, to meet project needs.Protection and Control: Design protection and control systems, including relay settings and coordination studies.Energy Efficiency: Incorporate energy-efficient technologies and practices into power system designs.Testing and Commissioning: Oversee the testing and commissioning of power systems to ensure functionality and reliability.Documentation: Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, drawings, and documentation for client projects.Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with electrical codes, standards, and regulations and ensure all designs comply with them.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in power system design.Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM).U.S. Legal Work Status – Citizenship or Permanent Residency preferredWilling to travelStrong knowledge of power system principles, equipment, and components.Experience with protection and control design.Familiarity with energy-efficient design practices.Effective problem-solving and communication skills.Professional engineering license (PE) preferred but not required.Knowledge of local electrical codes and regulations.Company DescriptionClifford Dias, PE, PC, is a professional engineering consulting firm, founded in New York City in 1983.
