Construction Superintendent
Clientmind Recruiting, Inc. is recruiting a Construction Superintendent for a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) specializing in federal construction projects for agencies including the VA, DoD, GSA, and FEMA. They self-perform a broad scope of work including hazardous material abatement including lead, asbestos, and mold. The projects are primarily located throughout the Mid-Atlantic and DMV region.
They are looking for an experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team. This is a hands-on field leadership role. You will be the primary point of contact on the jobsite, responsible for keeping projects on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with federal quality and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
• Manage all day-to-day field operations on assigned projects, including scheduling, coordination, and execution of work
• Schedule and oversee subcontractors and suppliers to maintain project flow and meet milestone dates
• Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for the Owner, Contracting Officer, and other
government or agency personnel
• Maintain and enforce quality control standards across all trades and scopes of work
• Manage and direct Sandow self-perform labor on site
• Review and maintain contract documents, RFIs, submittals, and as-built drawings
• Coordinate deliveries and manage site logistics to minimize delays and conflicts
• Lead the project in a safe manner, ensuring full compliance with OSHA standards and project-
specific safety plans
• Understand how all trades interact across the project and proactively identify and resolve
conflicts before they impact schedule or budget
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a comparable field
leadership role
• Experience on federal construction projects is strongly preferred (VA, DoD, GSA, FEMA, or
similar agencies)
• Working knowledge of federal construction compliance requirements including OSHA, USACE
EM 385-1-1, and Davis-Bacon
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple
subcontractors and priorities simultaneously
• Familiarity with construction field management and scheduling software
• OSHA 30 certification required
Preferred Qualifications
• Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) certification
• Experience with EM 385-1-1 safety planning and implementation
