Job Summary
The Financial Aid & Student Affairs Coordinator is a vital member of the institution. This person plays a crucial role in helping students feel supported, safe, and included on campus. The Financial Aid & Student Affairs Coordinator position helps to oversee non-academic activities, such as financial aid, work study, consumer disclosure & compliance, and more. They also provide guidance and support to students struggling with personal, or academic issues.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct verification of student and parent application data in compliance with federal criteria.
- Conduct needs analysis in compliance with federal criteria to determine the relative eligibility of each financial aid applicant.
- Counsel, provide guidance and resources to students to help them in their professional and personal lives.
- Provide financial aid assistance with Federal Work Study (FWS).
- Develop student employment guide.
- Lead the Institution’s Consumer Disclosure and Compliance Team.
- Maintain the financial aid website.
- Assist with financial aid exit counseling.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff and other education providers to enhance student experiences.
- Assist with student orientation programs.
- Act as a liaison between students and administration.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Education, Music or equivalent required.
- 2 years of higher education experience in student affairs, financial aid, student services or equivalent.
- Demonstrated project and program management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Specialized knowledge in cross-cultural communication is essential to perform competently in this position.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in financial aid management software, student information systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a significant caseload and meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
