Job Summary
The Communications and Digital Content Manager is a key member of the Cleveland Institute of Music’s (CIM’s) Marketing & Communications Department with responsibility for overseeing and generating public facing communications, including displays, collateral, social and traditional media management, and web management. This individual must be a dynamic self-starter who demonstrates a high level of professionalism, as well as customer service, communication, and organization skills.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Design management
- Work with departments across CIM to ascertain design and collateral needs.
- Hire and work with outside designers to execute materials.
- Manage the distribution of materials, including collecting all distribution lists, working with mail houses, and determining and coordinating community distribution.
- Manage collateral and photo archives.
Digital Content Development
- Regularly update fillable images on digital screens, including the CIM Calendar (all on-campus events) and CIM Welcome (using Slate for in-person tour info).
- Create, update, and upload all slides using Canva templates.
- Manage the CIM merchandise store, updating designs and sales.
- Working with Chief Marketing Officer to create, execute, monitor and report results of digital marketing campaigns.
Social Media Management
- Plan, create, and post social media content.
- Moderate comments and oversee student Instagram takeovers.
- Lead Social Media strategy meetings with faculty, staff, and student constituents.
- Administer social media for CIM Student Community Group, CIM Alumni Group, James Stroud International Guitar Competition, and Modern Snare Drum Competition pages.
- Track social media analytics and report accordingly.
Press Management
- Create and manage a press release schedule.
- Draft press releases and materials.
- Working chief marketing officer create and execute a press pitch schedule.
- Coordinate with press on interview, photography and other needs.
- Distribute press internally, maintain press archive and create press packs as needed.
Other duties or projects as assigned
Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong preference for majors in the arts or demonstrated experience in a performing arts setting. Working knowledge of classical music a plus.
- 3-5 years marketing, media or related experience.
- Energetic, flexible and adaptable, able to work independently in an environment with competing deadlines.
- Superb verbal and written communication skills, with ability to develop and prepare written correspondence and reports.
- Self-motivator; Must be able to take initiative to meet deadlines in a time-sensitive environment with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize; highly organized.
- Adept at learning new data systems.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Professional working environment as well as in both on-campus and remote locations (i.e., concert halls, churches, outdoor venues, etc., including those with catwalks/heights involved).
Position requires occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
Position involves variable 35-hour work week, with regular evenings and weekends as required. Working in standard office environment.
Salary : $45,000 - $50,000
