- Candidates must hold and be HQ in the secondary (grades 9-12) science license area (300).
- Non-licensed, residency licensure candidates are eligible based upon holding a Bachelor's degree with a minimum 2.7 GPA, and 24 semester hours of related courses in science; OR passing PRAXIS II scores on Praxis II test 5435 General Science Knowledge and Praxis II test 5624 Principles of Teaching and Learning: Grades 7-12.
- Examples of related courses include: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, Geology, Physical Science, Astronomy, Science, Botany, Genetics
- Eligibility for the residency license must be established prior to a contract offer.
- Candidates with the middle grades science license area will be given consideration.
