The Outpatient Pharmacist supports multiple east side outpatient pharmacy locations across the organization, including Willoughby, Beachwood, Twinsburg, Marymount, Hillcrest, and Euclid Avenue Pharmacy. Working within a high-volume ambulatory environment averaging approximately 400 prescriptions filled daily, this role is responsible for validating and verifying prescriptions, reviewing patient charts, and supporting prescription fulfillment workflows. Some locations also provide bedside delivery services. The pharmacist collaborates closely with fellow pharmacists, technicians, and clinical caregivers to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care across outpatient pharmacy operations.
A caregiver in this role will work Monday through Friday and rotate between 8:00am to 4pm and 10:00am to 6:00pm. This caregiver may be included in a weekend and holiday rotation at Euclid Ave pharmacy at Main Campus.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide pharmacy services and ensure the appropriate selection, dosing, administration and dispensing of medication orders.
- Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services.
- Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
- Contribute to medication safety initiatives.
- Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with national accreditation standards.
- Maintain professional interactions with patients to facilitate successful patient experiences.
- Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.
- Be accountable for drug use policy adherence.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy
- Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible in current state within 90 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations within 90 days of hire for those administering immunizations
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience
- Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a Specialized Pharmacy practice area
- Board Certification
Physical Requirements:
- Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.
- Must have normal or corrected vision.
- Must have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person

Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $101,900.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $155,390.00
