Position Summary:
Cleveland Carter Enterprises, Inc. (CCE)—a leading underground utilities construction company specializing in 24/7 emergency sewer and water repair—is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and safety-conscious General Laborer to join our team in Forest Park, GA.
The General Laborer supports underground utility construction projects by assisting Foremen, Equipment Operators, and Pipe Layers with manual labor, site preparation, material handling, traffic control, and general construction activities. This position requires the ability to work safely in physically demanding environments while maintaining productivity, quality workmanship, and a strong commitment to teamwork.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist Foremen, Equipment Operators, Pipe Layers, and crew members with daily underground utility construction activities.
- Load, unload, transport, and organize construction materials, tools, equipment, supplies, and traffic control devices.
- Safely operate a variety of hand tools and power tools required for construction projects.
- Assist with sewer, water, and storm utility installations by supplying materials, tools, and equipment to crew members.
- Perform traffic control duties in accordance with company policies and applicable safety regulations.
- Install silt fencing and other erosion control measures as directed.
- Prepare soil, plant trees and shrubs, and spread grass seed and fertilizer during site restoration activities.
- Grease equipment as directed by supervisors.
- Clean, inspect, and maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Perform light maintenance, housekeeping, and lawn maintenance at the company yard and shop as assigned.
- Ensure all tools, materials, and equipment are accounted for, secured, and loaded before leaving each job site.
- Work safely around heavy equipment, open excavations, underground utilities, traffic, and pedestrians.
- Follow all OSHA, company, and projectspecific safety regulations.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Work efficiently to meet project schedules while maintaining quality workmanship.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational goals.

Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in sewer, water, underground utility, or heavy civil construction.
- Basic knowledge of underground utility construction materials and installation methods preferred.
- Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a team environment.
Skills:
- Basic math, reading, and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds (team lift required for heavier materials).
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and perform repetitive physical labor throughout the workday.
- Ability to work safely in outdoor environments for shifts of up to 12 hours.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, wind, and cold.
- Ability to work safely around dust, mud, vibration, loud noise, airborne particles, traffic, and heavy equipment.
