Job Role: Billing Analyst

Position Summary:
The IT Billing Systems & Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing, supporting, and improving complex billing processes and the underlying systems and data structures.
This role sits within IT and partners with Finance and Operations to ensure billing system integrity, data quality, and scalable process design.
The position requires strong technical skills, including database analysis, system integration awareness, and the ability to translate business billing requirements into system and data improvements.
Qualifications:
5 years of experience in billing systems, revenue operations systems, or finance/operations IT support (contract or consulting experience preferred)
Strong SQL skills with demonstrated ability to analyze complex relational data models, reconcile data across systems, and troubleshoot data issues
Experience supporting or integrating enterprise platforms such as ERP (e.g., Oracle, SAP), CRM (e.g., Salesforce), and/or billing platforms; understanding of upstream/downstream integrations
Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications/user stories and partner effectively with developers and business stakeholders
Hands-on experience with data validation, data quality controls, and large-scale data cleanup/remediation efforts
Experience with testing practices (UAT, regression), change management, and production support in a controlled environment
Strong documentation skills (process flows, data flows, requirements, and SOPs) with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and IT teams
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities:
Systems & Process Analysis:
Analyze end-to-end billing processes across multiple systems (ERP, CRM, billing platforms)
Document system workflows, integrations, and data flows
Identify system gaps, performance issues, and process inefficiencies
Evaluate upstream/downstream system impacts
System Improvement & Solution Design:
Translate business requirements into technical specifications
Recommend system enhancements, automation, and configuration changes
Partner with development teams on fixes, enhancements, or integrations
Support testing (UAT, regression) and deployment of billing-related changes
Data Cleanup & Governance:
Lead or support large-scale data cleanup initiatives
Design validation rules and data quality controls within systems
Implement monitoring/reporting for ongoing data integrity
Support master data governance for billing-related entities
Data & Database Management:
Analyze and troubleshoot billing data across complex relational databases
Understand data models, interfaces, and ETL processes
Identify root causes of data inconsistencies across systems
