Clemson University's Industrial Engineering (IE) Department is looking for a Graduate Student Services Program Coordinator to fulfill the following duties:
- Coordinates IE graduate student support.
- Guides graduate students in navigating resources, policies, procedures related to contracts, enrollment, and degree progress.
- Coordinates events and programs to support graduate student success and engagement.
- Serves as registration and room coordinator.
JOB DUTIES:
30% - Essential - PROGRAM COORDINATION:
Develops and implements graduate student services programs, events, and activities to enhance the student experience and student success. Recommends improvements in policies and procedures to the graduate committee. Processes handbook updates, identifies website updates, reports data, irregular situations, and/or conflicts to the student services manager or graduate committee. Assists the graduate coordinator with recruiting events and orientations.
30% - Essential - ACADEMIC PROGRESS:
Maintains accurate database of graduate students and their progress. Advises students on academic progress, policies, procedures, admissions, financial aid, engagement opportunities, and personal development. Identifies student issues and refers students to appropriate campus resources as needed. Provides registration support. Assists with academic forms: plan of study, probation forms, CPT forms, etc. Manages content and communications in the graduate Canvas work group.
25% - Essential - REGISTRATION COORDINATING:
Enters IE courses into Clemson's course scheduling system at the direction of the Associate Chair. Manages IE courses: adding/changing sections, managing capacities, adding instructors, adjusting or locating rooms, and setting meeting times. Manages all course related reservations for Freeman Hall. Assists in resolving registration problems including overrides, closed course requests, and registration errors.
15% - Essential - GRAD STUDENT CONTRACT MANAGEMENT:
Creates offer letters for prospective and current graduate students at the direction of the Department Chair and/or Associate Chair. Maintains accurate list of assistantship and fellowship contracts. Communicates with the dept. payroll staff to ensure students have completed necessary steps to be hired.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree
Work Experience - 1 Years experience in student services programs
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Experience working with students in a higher education setting.
