Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on residential HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Install new HVAC equipment following schematics, HVAC design plans, and manufacturer specifications to ensure proper operation and compliance.
- Conduct routine maintenance on mechanical systems to optimize performance and extend equipment lifespan.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and electrical diagnostics techniques to identify issues accurately.
- Repair plumbing components associated with HVAC systems and refrigeration units to ensure seamless operation.
- Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools efficiently during service tasks.
- Communicate clearly with customers about system issues, repair procedures, and maintenance recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- 1 Year Minimum Exp in Residential HVAC Service
- Strong knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration if applicable.
- Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) systems and property maintenance tasks.
- Ability to read technical manuals, building automation system controls, and electrical wiring diagrams accurately.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record;
driver certification preferred. - EPA certification for handling refrigerants; additional certifications in HVAC/R or appliance repair are advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and communication.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, welding tasks, and working in confined spaces safely.
