Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support the accounting and financial operations of a group of affiliated companies. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls, and efficient day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for multiple entities.
- Oversee and coordinate accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
- Administer and reconcile bi-weekly payroll, benefits, and related reporting requirements.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring timely and accurate entries.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including intercompany transactions and consolidations.
- Collaborate with external accountants and auditors as needed.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of improved accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Provide analytical support to management and assist with ad-hoc financial projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Associate’s degree with equivalent experience may be considered).
- Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity or multi-location environment.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, and modern accounting or ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and accounting best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational ability.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
