Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and evaluating resident activities and programs.
- Encourage resident participation in scheduled activities and events.
- Escort residents on outings or activities outside the facility as assigned.
- Register residents for trips, programs, and special events.
- Conduct activities under the direction of the Resident Program Director.
- Maintain and organize activity supplies, including purchasing items when necessary.
- Observe residents during activities and share relevant information with appropriate staff.
- Assist in surveying and interviewing residents to determine interests, talents, and satisfaction.
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate staff member.
- Page employees or transfer callers to voicemail when necessary.
- Greet visitors and guide them to their intended destinations.
- Provide general facility information such as address, directions, fax number, and other inquiries.
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail; manage outgoing mail and courier pickups (FedEx, UPS, etc.).
- Perform clerical tasks such as copying, faxing, filing, and other administrative duties as assigned.
- Maintain a safe working environment and follow safety protocols.
- Demonstrate a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and coworkers.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
- The ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word is a plus.
- High school diploma or GED required or equivalent related work experience.
- Skill at working with individuals who have cognitive, physical, or sensory disabilities.
