Position SummaryClearSpace Design is seeking an experienced Regional Director of Business Development to drive growth within the commercial interiors and contract furniture market. This individual will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, expanding strategic relationships, and increasing specification and sales activity throughout their assigned territory.
The ideal candidate has an established network within the contract furniture, commercial interiors, workplace technology, or architectural and design community and understands the dealer, manufacturer, and specification sales process.
This is a hybrid role with access to our Chicago Merchandise Mart showroom. Work location is flexible within the region, with travel required for customer meetings, industry events, dealer engagement, and project development.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute regional growth strategies to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities within the contract furniture and commercial interiors market.
- Build relationships with furniture dealers, manufacturers, architects, designers, facility managers, and end-user clients.
- Drive product specifications and increase market awareness among the A&D community.
- Conduct presentations, product demonstrations, lunch-and-learns, and showroom events.
- Manage and grow existing accounts while identifying opportunities for expansion.
- Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities through effective prospecting and relationship development.
- Collaborate with internal engineering, design, operations, and marketing teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and strategic partnerships.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging workplace technology opportunities.
- Maintain accurate forecasting, reporting, and opportunity management through CRM systems.
- Represent ClearSpace Design at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
- 5 years of successful business development or sales experience within the commercial interiors, contract furniture, workplace technology, architectural products, or related industries.
- Existing relationships within the contract furniture dealer, manufacturer, A&D, or end-user community.
- Proven track record of generating new business and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales management tools.
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned region as required.
- Experience selling through contract furniture dealers and specification-driven channels.
- Knowledge of workplace technology, monitor arms, power solutions, ergonomic products, or related ancillary furniture products.
- Familiarity with commercial furniture manufacturers, dealer networks, and the A&D community.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Interior Design, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
