Sr Endpoint Management Engineer

Our client, a large professional services firm is looking to hire an experienced Senior Endpoint Management Engineer for a 2–3-month remote contract. The consultant will support an enterprise endpoint-management modernization and migration initiative. The consultant will assess the current-state environment, design and execute migration activities, and configure modern endpoint-management capabilities across Microsoft and Apple platforms.

The role requires strong hands-on expertise with ManageEngine Endpoint Central, Microsoft Intune, Jamf Pro Enterprise, and Apple Business Manager.

This is a delivery-focused consulting role. The selected resource must be capable of working independently, collaborating directly with client stakeholders, troubleshooting complex enrollment and policy issues, and producing implementation-quality documentation and operational handoff materials.

Responsibilities

• Assess the existing endpoint-management environment, device populations, policies, applications, security controls, dependencies, and operational constraints.
• Develop a practical migration strategy, sequencing plan, pilot approach, production rollout plan, and rollback methodology.
• Migrate supported Windows, macOS, iOS, and iPadOS endpoints from the current management platform to the target platform with minimal user disruption.
• Configure and validate Microsoft Intune and Jamf Pro Enterprise capabilities, including Apple Business Manager integration.
• Produce repeatable runbooks, configuration documentation, troubleshooting guidance, and knowledge-transfer materials.
• Perform current-state discovery and document device inventory, ownership, enrollment methods, policy assignments, application deployment, patching, security settings, and exception populations.
• Design migration waves based on device type, operating system, business criticality, user population, location, and technical dependencies.
• Create pilot, validation, rollback, communications, and production migration procedures.
• Execute and troubleshoot migrations between endpoint-management platforms.
• Validate enrollment, policy application, application delivery, compliance, reporting, and end-user experience following migration.
• Identify migration risks and proactively recommend remediation or contingency actions
  
  

Required Skills

• Demonstrated experience migrating endpoint devices from one enterprise management platform to another, including pilot, wave planning, production rollout, troubleshooting, and rollback.
• 5 or more years of enterprise endpoint engineering, endpoint management, or workplace technology experience.
• 3 or more years of hands-on Microsoft Intune experience.
• 3 or more years of hands-on Jamf Pro experience.
• Completion of at least one material endpoint-management platform migration; multiple migrations are strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting enterprise environments with at least 1,000 managed endpoints preferred.
• Experience developing migration plans, test plans, runbooks, operating procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials.

• Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102).
• Jamf Certified Tech, Jamf Certified Admin, or Jamf Certified Expert.
• Experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Jamf Connect, or Jamf Protect.
• PowerShell, Bash, Microsoft Graph API, or REST API automation experience.
• Experience in a professional services, consulting, managed services, or multi-client delivery environment.

The expected hourly rate range for this role is: $56 – $87 per hour
