Our client, a large professional services firm is looking to hire an F5 Engineer for a 6 to 12 month remote contract. The client is seeking an experienced F5 Engineer to support the design, administration, optimization, and troubleshooting of enterprise F5 BIG-IP environments. Th consultant will need to create and maintain runbooks, as-built documentation, and knowledge transfer materials for the work they perform. This role requires strong hands-on expertise across LTM, DNS, SSLO, APM, and ASM/Advanced WAF to help maintain secure, highly available, and high-performing application delivery services.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across infrastructure, security, and application teams to deliver upgrades, migrations, operational support, and best-practice improvements in complex production environments. The consultant will design, implement, administer, and support F5 BIG-IP platforms in enterprise environments as well as manage and optimize LTM, DNS, SSLO, APM, and ASM/Advanced WAF configurations.
The consultant will perform upgrades, migrations, cutovers, and health checks across F5 environments and also support production operations, incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. The F5 Engineer will also be asked to configure and maintain virtual servers, pools, monitors, profiles, iRules, DNS listeners, sync groups, and access/security policies. The consultant will be supporting SSLO rollouts and phased production deployments where required.

The expected hourly rate range for this role is: $58.50 – $87.75 per hour

Required Skills
- 7 years’ experience working LTM, DNS, SSLO, APM, ASM
- Deep, hands-on configuration of Local Traffic Manager (LTM) for intelligent load balancing and Global Traffic Manager (GTM) for DNS-based disaster recovery
- Experience implementing Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and Advanced WAF to protect against zero-day threats, OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, and DDoS attacks.
- Ability to manage Access Policy Manager (APM) for Zero Trust network/application access, SAML, OAuth, and VPN deployments.
- Expert-level knowledge of TCP/IP, SSL/TLS termination, HTTP/2, DNS, and dynamic content caching
- Experience deploying F5 solutions in public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) and scripting/automation using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Python
