Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Counselor & Behavioral Health Professional dedicated to supporting autistic clients. This role involves providing comprehensive mental health services, including psychotherapy, behavioral interventions, and family support, within a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, along with expertise in evidence-based therapies such as applied behavior analysis and cognitive behavioral therapy. Experience with crisis management, medical documentation, and HIPAA compliance is essential to ensure high-quality patient care and confidentiality. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of clients and their families through personalized treatment plans and collaborative care. The pay rate range for Clinical Therapy is $30 - $40 per hour (to be determined by educational level and years of experience). The pay rate for Behavioral Support & Family Support Services is $16 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based approaches such as behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and psychopharmacology when appropriate.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions tailored to clients’ needs, including those with autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, grief issues, addiction challenges, and chronic pain management.
  • Utilize therapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, behavior management, social work strategies, and special education methods to support clients’ mental health and behavioral goals.
  • Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis management protocols and provide immediate support during emergencies.
  • Maintain detailed medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations; accurately record patient care activities using CPT coding for billing purposes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including medical professionals, educators, case managers, and support staff to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
  • Engage in clinical research activities or data collection projects aimed at improving treatment outcomes for individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's /Master’s degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field; licensure or certification as required by state regulations.
  • Proven experience working with children and individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
  • Relias Training (proof of transcripts). **This training can be obtained after hiring if not previously completed**
  • Proficiency in telehealth platforms for remote counseling sessions; experience working within outpatient or inpatient clinical settings preferred.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention techniques; excellent crisis management skills.
  • First Aid & CPR Certification.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging clients and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams; compassionate approach to patient care. This position is integral to delivering high-quality behavioral health services tailored to the unique needs of autistic clients while fostering a supportive environment that promotes growth and well-being across all ages served.

Pay: $16.00 - $40.00 per hour
