Senior Data Analyst – Mortgage Analytics
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join a mortgage analytics team supporting business performance, risk monitoring, reporting, and data-driven decision-making. This is a hands-on role for an analyst who can step in, quickly learn new data environments, and begin delivering meaningful insights from complex datasets.
The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills, experience working with large datasets, and a background in mortgage, lending, financial services, or a related industry. Experience with dashboard development and visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is also highly valued.
What You'll Do
- Analyze large and complex mortgage, lending, financial, and operational datasets to identify trends, performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Extract, organize, clean, validate, and transform data from multiple sources.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, scorecards, and analytical tools for business and senior management audiences.
- Take ownership of existing dashboards and reporting solutions, making enhancements and changes as business needs evolve.
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable business insights and recommendations.
- Support portfolio performance monitoring, risk analysis, forecasting, and other strategic analytical initiatives.
- Prepare analysis and reporting for senior management and external stakeholders, including regulatory-related reporting.
- Conduct ad hoc and exploratory analysis to answer evolving business questions.
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, automation, and analytical processes.
- Collaborate with business, risk, finance, data, and operations teams to understand requirements and deliver effective analytical solutions.
What You'll Bring
- 4 years of professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, financial analysis, or a related analytical field.
- Strong/advanced SQL skills are required, including experience querying, transforming, validating, and analyzing large datasets.
- Experience building and maintaining dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, or similar visualization tools.
- Experience with Python, SAS, R, or another statistical/analytical programming language is a plus.
- Experience in mortgage, lending, banking, financial services, or another credit-related environment is strongly preferred.
- Experience with mortgage or loan performance data is particularly valuable; experience with other financial products, such as credit cards, may also be relevant.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work with complex data and turn analysis into clear business insights.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of deliverables, and manage multiple priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field preferred.
