Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements and procedures
- Perform MIG, TIG, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and
welding techniques on various materials including sheet metal, ductwork, and piping - Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and press brake machines to shape, cut, and assemble metal components accurately
- Read schematics and mechanical drawings to guide fabrication and assembly processes
- Operate rigging equipment and forklifts safely for material handling and positioning during fabrication or installation
- Conduct plasma cutting and soldering tasks with precision according to project specifications
- Follow ASME codes & standards to ensure all welds meet safety and quality regulations
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly using machining tools, power tools, and safety equipment at all times
- Collaborate with team members on construction sites or manufacturing floors to complete projects efficiently
- Perform basic math calculations for measurements, material quantities, and tolerances necessary for fabrication tasks
Experience
- Proven construction site experience or hands-on welding background in manufacturing or fabrication environments
- Skilled in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW,
welding; certification preferred but not required - Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and mechanical drawings is essential for accurate work execution
- Experience operating machinery such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, or pipe threading equipment is advantageous
- Knowledge of rigging techniques, crane operation basics, and forklift handling enhances safety and productivity
- Ability to use calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, and schematics confidently in daily tasks
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication projects
- Mechanical knowledge related to ductwork installation, pipe fabrication, or assembly processes is highly valued
