Mitigation Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform water damage restoration, fire damage cleanup, mold remediation, and asbestos abatement with efficiency and care.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools to remove damaged materials, prepare surfaces, and assist in structural repairs.
• Conduct thorough cleaning of affected areas, including carpet cleaning and debris removal, to restore properties to their pre-damage condition.
• Assist with construction-related tasks such as drywall removal, surface preparation, and minor repairs under supervision.
• Follow safety protocols diligently while operating equipment like saws, drills, and other restoration tools.
• Document work progress accurately through reports and communicate effectively with team members and clients throughout each project.
• Support the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with industry standards.

Requirements

• Prior experience in the restoration industry or related fields such as construction or cleaning is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of mitigation techniques including water extraction, fire cleanup, mold remediation, and asbestos abatement.
• Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong physical stamina to perform manual labor in various environments; ability to lift heavy objects is essential.
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety procedures at all times.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is often required for travel between job sites.
• Our clients require our team to pass a back ground check to work on many projects, and so a criminal history unfortunately will be weighed as important.
• Certifications in mold remediation or asbestos abatement are a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates. Pay: $22.50 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
