Accounting Specialist

Job Description

Clear Cloud Solutions – Southern California Clear Cloud Solutions is a fast-growing Electrical Contractor and Low Voltage Security Systems Integration Company seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team full-time. This role will primarily focus on accounts receivable, accounts payable, general accounting, and month-end close processes, while also being trained as a backup resource for payroll functions. We are looking for a proactive, analytical professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and can maintain accuracy under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit customer invoices; post payments and deposits to appropriate AR/AP accounts
• Monitor customer aging receivable accounts and follow up on outstanding balances
• Check, verify, process, code, and enter vendor invoices; resolve discrepancies and unpaid invoices
• Perform daily/weekly/monthly credit card reconciliations
• Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations
• Maintain organized vendor and customer files
• Respond professionally to vendor inquiries and incoming accounting-related calls/emails
• Generate regular financial reports for management review
• Liaise with project managers, operations, and other departments on job-costing and billing matters
• Serve as trained backup for payroll processing (reviewing time entries, processing bi-weekly payroll for ~70 employees, handling basic benefit deductions, and preparing prevailing wage certified payroll reports when needed)
• Participate in Workers’ Comp, General Liability, and 401k payroll audits as required
• Identify process improvements and implement new procedures where applicable
• Other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
  
  

Qualifications & Requirements

• 5 years of progressive accounting experience with a strong emphasis on accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas, charts)
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience with timekeeping/job-costing systems (TSheets or similar) is a plus
• Previous exposure to payroll processing and prevailing wage reporting is highly desirable (training will be provided for backup duties)
• Strong understanding of basic GAAP principles
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Professional verbal and written communication skills; must interact confidently with vendors, customers, and internal teams
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic who can work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required, with commensurate experience
