Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drywall Taper/Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying joint compound, sanding, and finishing drywall surfaces to create smooth, professional walls and ceilings that meet high-quality standards. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of residential, commercial, or restoration projects, ensuring a polished and flawless finish that enhances the overall aesthetic of each space. Responsibilities
- Apply joint compound and tape to drywall seams, corners, and joints with precision and efficiency
- Sand and smooth finished surfaces to achieve a seamless appearance suitable for painting or further finishing
- Install drywall sheets on walls and ceilings, ensuring proper alignment and secure fastening
- Repair water damage or damaged drywall sections as part of restoration projects
- Use schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute finishing details
- Collaborate with carpenters, plasterers, and other trades to coordinate project tasks effectively
- Perform caulking, trim carpentry, fixture installation, and other finishing touches to complete the project scope
Skills
- Proven experience with drywall taping, finishing, and sanding techniques
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating and blueprint reading
- Familiarity with plastering, stucco application, and metal stud framing
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately
- Skilled in related trades such as carpentry, painting (including airless paint spraying), flooring installation, tile laying, and masonry
- Experience with water damage restoration, mold remediation, plumbing (including construction plumbing), and fixture installation is a plus
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes
- Knowledge of the restoration industry standards and safety protocols for construction sites
