What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Specialist position at Clean Power Staffing?
*MUST HAVE SOME EXPERIENCE ON A SOLAR SITE PREVIOUSLY*
The Safety Technician is responsible for supporting the implementation and enforcement of site-specific health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs on utility-scale solar construction projects. This role works closely with site leadership to promote a strong safety culture, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and minimize risk across all phases of construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing and maintaining the project Health & Safety Plan (HASP)
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards
- Monitor field activities to identify and correct unsafe behaviors and conditions
- Support incident investigations, including documentation of root cause and corrective actions
- Maintain accurate safety records, logs, and reports (JHAs, toolbox talks, incident reports, etc.)
- Facilitate daily safety meetings and toolbox talks with field personnel
- Ensure proper use of PPE and enforce safety protocols across the site
- Assist with onboarding and safety orientation for new employees and subcontractors
- Coordinate with project management and subcontractors to ensure adherence to safety requirements
- Track and report safety metrics and trends to site leadership
- Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement and coaching of field teams
