Entry Level - HAZMAT Technician

Clean Harbors in San Antonio, TX location has an opening for an Entry Level - HAZMAT Technician to work at a local customer site.

This role is responsible for the performance of tasks associated with handling, segregating, packing and inspecting all chemical wastes in accordance with our company policies and procedures.

Pay: 20.00

06:00 a.m. to 02:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
• Making chemical pickups throughout customer facility as directed.
• Conducting chemical bulking/consolidation as required.
• Packaging of chemical waste to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.
• Ensuring work area is maintained in a neat and orderly manner.
• Participating in spill response on customer’s site as needed.
• Responsible for satellite accumulation management.
• Inspections on main accumulation areas weekly/monthly.
• Experience with adhesives, corrosives, flammable items and non-hazardous materials a must.
• Lab packing, gas cylinder management, universal waste management manifests, waste profiling.
• Scheduling shipments.
• Collects, segregates, and properly packages waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.
• Physically demanding position; Must be able to lift as much as to 50 pounds.
• Will support after hours emergencies and routine tasks.
• Any other duties as assigned by management.
  
  

Qualifications

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Hazardous waste experience a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean Motor Vehicle Record.
