Duties

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation to promote independence.
• Support clients during community outings and activities, ensuring safety and engagement while providing transportation assistance using standard passenger cars.
• Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs, promoting positive behaviors and reducing challenging behaviors.
• Collect data on client progress, document observations accurately, and contribute to care plans to support ongoing service quality.
• Communicate effectively with clients using various methods, including American Sign Language if applicable, ensuring their needs are understood and respected.
• Administer medication following prescribed protocols when trained and authorized to do so, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Collaborate with team members, families, and social services to coordinate care plans that support clients’ goals and well-being.

Requirements

• Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices enhances your ability to support clients effectively.
• Valid driver’s license with experience operating standard passenger cars; personal transportation assistance is essential.
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation; proficiency in American Sign Language is a plus.
• Certification in first aid and CPR; experience in caregiving or home & community care settings is desirable.
• Ability to assist clients with ADLs and provide compassionate support tailored to cognitive disabilities.
• Prior experience working within social services or behavioral health environments demonstrates your commitment to client-centered care.

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
