Additionally, the QBuilt Technician is accountable for evaluating all Quality Standards, including but not limited to, craftsmanship, HUD code compliance, and Clayton QBuilt construction standards.

Position Summary: The QBuilt Technician is required to evaluate and ensure the overall quality of our homes by conducting comprehensive inspections within their designated areas. Additionally, the QBuilt Technician is accountable for evaluating all Quality Standards, including but not limited to, craftsmanship, HUD code compliance, and Clayton QBuilt construction standards.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Conduct QBuilt inspection of our homes in the designated zones to the required standards.
- Document findings during the inspection using available technology.
- Communicate to management when opportunities are identified and help resolve the opportunity.
- Communicate and work closely with production leadership and team members during the inspections.
- Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Attend production meetings and communicate overall status of program in their zones.
- Help establish and document Absolutes of Craftmanship standards based on feedback from Customers and Retailers.
- Other duties as assigned by the QA Manager.
- High school diploma or GED
- 6 Months experience in manufactured housing industry is preferred.
- Demonstrated positive influence and optimistic demeanor
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, IPADs
- Continuous willingness to learn and grow
- Sound judgement in all interactions at all levels within the facility
- Strong knowledge of quality standards and expectations including eBuilt, QBuilt standards, DAPIA and CCI’s.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to read floor plans and production order to ensure that operations meet production standards.
- Strong leadership skills and teamwork mentality
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and occasionally use ladders / steps to enter and exit homes.
- Must be able to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as telephone, calculator, copy machine, computer printer, etc.
- Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
- Works in an environment that includes exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Work primarily involves sitting / standing, may involve a moderate amount of bending / stretching.
