Under the direction of the Concrete Foreman, the Concrete Finisher aids in the construction, repair and maintenance of County rights-of-way, roads, bridges, drainage systems, facilities and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in the construction, repair and maintenance of concrete structures, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, headwalls, drainage structures and general construction-type work in and for the Public Works Department
- Maintains assigned job site in a neat, orderly and safe manner
- Maintains any assigned vehicle, tools, equipment, inventory and supplies in a safe, secure, neat and good operating condition at all times
- Utilizes appropriate safety equipment and procedures for each assigned task
- Performs periodic operator safety checks and preventive maintenance checks of any assigned vehicle and equipment
- Reports any unusual conditions or safety concerns to supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Six months related experience and/or training in a construction field
- Previous experience with concrete forming and/or finishing
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record

Must be able to perceive, inspect, and assess structures and construction sites and to read and comprehend written instructions and safety manuals to perform duties.
