IOTA Senior Designer / FF&E Lead

An established Government services contractor is looking for an experienced IOTA Senior Designer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Martinsburg, WV Warehouse project. In this Key Personnel role, you’ll lead interior design, furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E), and space planning for warehouse, training, and administrative space supporting the Veterans Health Administration Office of Emergency Management. This position is contingent upon contract award and Government acceptance of proposed personnel.

What You’ll Do

• Coordinate interior design and FF&E planning with the VA Regional Interior Designer, user groups, and A/E team, consistent with approved design and construction documents
• Translate administrative requirements for furniture, fixtures, casework, and signage into design, construction, and installation documents
• Validate FF&E requirements and manufacturer/model selections; prepare cut sheets and specifications using VA-SEPS Joint Service Number (JSN) nomenclature
• Develop room-by-room FF&E layouts and 3D renderings in Revit; coordinate equipment placement and identify design conflicts
• Maintain the room-by-room Master Equipment and Furniture List, approvals, and design submittals in the Government SharePoint site
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and space impacts through the approved change process
• Prepare the Master Artwork Plan, artwork cut sheets, and placement plan for administrative spaces
• Develop the Master Key Plan with VA representatives and maintain the furniture reuse/disposal plan, including accountable property records
• Prepare rough-order-of-magnitude estimates and support furniture procurement packages, market research, and VA ordering templates
• When optional services are exercised, support delivery and installation coordination, walk-throughs, sign-offs, and correction of deficiencies

What You Bring (Required)

• At least 5 years of experience in facility design
• Active NCIDQ certification
• Demonstrated experience with administrative operations and related furniture, fixtures, casework, and signage, with the ability to translate requirements into design, construction, and installation documents
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Ability to meet VA personnel-security and system-access requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• VA or Federal IOTA design and FF&E experience, including administrative, training, healthcare, or emergency-management facilities
• Experience preparing Revit FF&E layouts, VA-SEPS/JSN-based cut sheets, room-content databases, and Government SharePoint deliverables
• Experience with VA furniture acquisition packages, reuse planning, installation coordination, and facility activation

Work Schedule
This position is primarily on-site in Martinsburg, WV, with some off-site work at the contractor’s facility. Hours are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with core availability from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding federal holidays. Some weekend work is expected for inventory and activation, and project-related travel may be required.

Security Requirement
You must meet VA Low Risk / Tier 1 (NACI) background investigation requirements. You’ll also complete fingerprinting, VA security and privacy training, and Rules of Behavior acknowledgments before beginning work.

Salary: $85,000 – $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience
