Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair air conditioning systems, refrigeration units, boilers, and related HVAC equipment
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure efficient operation of HVAC systems
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints for system troubleshooting and installation
- Conduct equipment repairs using appropriate tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment
- Install new HVAC systems according to design specifications and industry standards
- Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems when necessary
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all repairs and maintenance activities
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices during all field service operations
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems when required
Skills
- Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC/R or related fields such as construction or appliance repair
- Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in refrigeration, ammonia refrigeration, boiler operation, and plumbing
- Ability to read schematics and understand HVAC design principles
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools including ohmmeters and other electrical testing equipment
- Skilled in equipment repair, welding, and general maintenance tasks
- Familiarity with field service procedures for HVAC systems across commercial or industrial sites
- Knowledge of property maintenance practices related to heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems
- Valid
driver’s license for transportation to various job sites - Additional skills such as welding or boiler operation are advantageous but not mandatory
