Duties
- Manage all aspects of patient billing, including processing payments and posting transactions accurately
- Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility for orthodontic treatments
- Submit insurance claims promptly and follow up on unpaid or denied claims to ensure timely reimbursement
- Communicate effectively with insurance providers to resolve discrepancies or issues related to orthodontic coding, orthodontic records, or billing errors
- Assist patients in understanding their financial responsibilities, including estimating treatment costs and explaining payment plans or financing options
- Maintain comprehensive records related to billing and insurance claims while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations
- Stay updated on changes in orthodontic coding standards, insurance policies, and billing regulations relevant to orthodontic care
Preferred Qualifications (although willing to train the right candidate):
- Proven experience in insurance verification, claims processing, or medical billing (preferably in an orthodontic or dental setting)
- Familiarity with managing insurance and billing processes
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to interpret complex insurance policies and explain coverage details clearly to patients
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple claims and documentation efficiently
- Prior experience in collections, revenue cycle management, or healthcare finance is highly desirable
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent
