What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ferrari Technician position at Classic Coach Repair Inc?
Vintage & Exotic Automotive Mechanical Technician
Classic Coach Repair has restored some of the world’s finest automobiles since 1972. As the first Ferrari-authorized body shop in the United States, our family-run company specializes in vintage Ferraris, rare European automobiles, and concours-level restorations.
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician who can return these exceptional vehicles to running and driving condition—with mechanical work that meets the same exacting standards as our body and paint restoration.
This is not routine service work. You will diagnose, restore, and rebuild mechanical systems on vehicles that are often decades old. Success requires strong diagnostic ability, resourcefulness, careful craftsmanship, and a commitment to restoration-correct results.
Responsibilities
- Perform and assist in complete mechanical teardown, inspection, restoration, and reassembly
- Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and related systems
- Restore brake, suspension, steering, fuel, and cooling systems
- Troubleshoot and repair vintage electrical systems and wiring
- Identify, source, and organize correct components for period-accurate rebuilds
- Work effectively when factory documentation or parts catalogs are unavailable
- Conduct road tests and provide final mechanical sign-off before delivery
- Maintain detailed photographic documentation and build records
- Collaborate with restoration, body, paint, and fabrication teams
Qualifications
- At least five years of hands-on automotive mechanical experience
- Experience in restoration, classic cars, exotic vehicles, or a high-end independent shop
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
- Ability to solve complex problems without relying solely on modern diagnostic equipment
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a restoration team
- Must own a professional set of tools
- Vintage European or Ferrari mechanical experience is strongly preferred
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation based on experience
- Paid time off (PTO) and vacation benefits
- The opportunity to work on rare, significant, and historic automobiles
- Exposure to Ferrari factory-authorized standards and processes
- A stable, family-run workplace with more than 50 years in business and low employee turnover
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Some Saturdays may be required based on workload and project deadlines.
If you take pride in solving difficult mechanical problems and producing work worthy of concours-level automobiles, we would like to hear from you.
To apply, please submit your résumé and a brief summary of your experience with classic, European, exotic, or restoration vehicles.
