Class 101 is a national college planning franchise whose mission is to provide students and families with expert guidance in the college search, admissions, and financial aid process. As dedicated college advisors, we recommend potential colleges fitting clients’ factors and budget, as well as assist in identifying a career path that aligns with their abilities and interests. We support them in the steps necessary to achieve those goals in the most cost-effective manner possible.

We are seeking a college planner at our Springfield, MO office - someone who will work collaboratively with a team to provide direct college planning to high school students through individual meetings. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dedicated to the needs of our clients, and willing to learn and execute a proven system for delivering college planning.

Academic College Planning Advisor Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering effective meetings with students to educate and empower them on how to navigate the college process using Class 101 curriculum.
  • Encouraging, motivating and keeping students on track as they progress through the college admissions process.
  • Serving as a reliable source for students and families
  • Meeting deadlines for submitting applications
  • Guiding students through the essay writing process to create and refine main, supplemental, honors, and scholarship essays

Skills And Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in an applicable field of study, including business, education, and social sciences, or equivalent related career experience
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including some nights and weekends
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, particularly with teenagers
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to learn and execute a proven system
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience with and a willingness to lead a classroom setting, facilitating classroom learning for up to 20 students
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The successful applicant will be comfortable using technology. At a minimum the applicant should be adept using web browsers and MS Office suite applications, particularly MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • Experience with social media and social media marketing is a plus

Compensation: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
