Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment across our facilities. Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across various areas of the facility
- Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning processes, adhering to all chemical handling safety procedures
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums to maintain floors in pristine condition
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely when moving furniture, supplies, or equipment
- Maintain sanitation standards in restrooms, kitchens, and common areas by disinfecting surfaces and replenishing supplies
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or injuries during cleaning activities
- Assist with minor custodial maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or fixing minor fixtures when necessary
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning practices
- Familiarity with custodial equipment including floor buffers, vacuums, and cleaning tools
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely following proper safety procedures for chemical handling safety procedures
- Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on safe lifting practices and heavy lifting techniques
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when needed
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance tasks such as basic repairs or painting is a plus
- Ability to adhere to safety protocols consistently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
