Position Overview
Clark-Wilkins Elementary School is seeking a Licensed Social Worker or Certified School Psychologist for the Specialized Emotional Behavioral Program, My Time, serving students with social emotional, and/or behavioral disabilities in grades 1-4. The Social Worker/School Psychologist will work with a multidisciplinary team of a special educator, regular educators, board-certified behavior analyst, speech and language pathologist, occupational therapist, and families to provide emotional and behavioral programming within the context of a public school. The social worker/school psychologist will partner with a special educator in leading the continued development of the specialized program in the implementation of evidence-based social emotional competency instruction, behavioral programming, trauma-informed practices, and crisis management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Refinement and implementation of My Time program and individual program for social-emotional competence and behavior
- Development and monitoring of students' social-emotional and behavioral goals
- Direct individual and group counseling
- Collaboration and consultation with a multidisciplinary team for social-emotional and behavioral programming
- Family and community liaison for wrap-around supports and services for students within the program
- Support and development of professional development and coaching for paraprofessionals and other professional staff connected with the program
Required Qualifications
- Licensed/Certified Mental Health Professional, such as a Licensed Social Worker or Certified School Psychologist
- NHED Certification (or able to be certified) for School Social Worker (0049) or School Psychologist (0046)
- Three or more years of experience working with schools, in school settings, or with school-age students in a clinical or therapeutic setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) models of CASEL, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Zones of Regulation, and Social Thinking
- Experience in Behavior and Crisis Management
- Trained in Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) or comparable strategy
- Strong understanding of children's developmental needs and impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
- Calm and consistent leadership skills
- Demonstrated commitment to a collaborative team approach
- Strong coordination/organizational skills
- Experience working within school settings
- Experience in coordinating family and community resources
- Knowledge of multi-tier systems of support (MTSS)
