Clark Hill is seeking an experienced paralegal with 5 years of experience to join the Litigation business unit in the Birmingham office. This position plays a key role in case management, discovery, trial preparation, and client service for a diverse insurance defense practice. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while working collaboratively with attorneys, clients, experts, and support professionals.

Essential Responsibilities
- Manage litigation files from inception through resolution, ensuring accurate organization and maintenance of case materials.
- Draft and assist with discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, notices, pleadings, motions, and trial-related documents.
- Obtain, organize, review, summarize, and analyze medical, billing, employment, and other records.
- Prepare chronologies, case summaries, timelines, and witness materials.
- Assist with fact investigation, background research, court records research, and social media investigations.
- Coordinate and track discovery, document productions, subpoenas, expert disclosures, and court deadlines.
- Prepare deposition exhibits, deposition summaries, mediation materials, and trial notebooks.
- Support attorneys with expert witness retention, document review, and expert file preparation.
- Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit management, witness coordination, and trial technology support.
- Communicate professionally with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, experts, vendors, and court personnel.
- Maintain accurate time entries and comply with client billing guidelines.
- Utilize litigation support and document management systems to support efficient case handling.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree or a Paralegal Certificate
- Minimum of 5 years of civil litigation experience; insurance defense experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting matters involving personal injury, transportation, premises liability, professional liability, construction defect, product liability, or general liability claims preferred.
- Knowledge of state and federal court procedures and filing requirements.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal technology platforms.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
