We are seeking a highly skilled Trade Support Engineer to support our electronic trading systems, trade lifecycle processes, and front-office users. This role is a hybrid of technical production support and operational trade support, requiring strong market knowledge, technical troubleshooting ability, and excellent communication skills.
You will monitor real-time trading activity, investigate trade issues, ensure accurate trade processing, and coordinate with traders, brokers, exchanges, and internal technology teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, remains calm under pressure, and can quickly diagnose issues across systems, connectivity, and trade workflows.
Responsibilities
Real-Time Trading Support
- Monitor electronic trading systems, order flow, and market connectivity during market hours
- Investigate issues related to order routing, execution quality, latency, cancellations, and rejected orders
- Identify abnormal trading behavior or system performance and escalate appropriately
- Support trading desks by answering front-office inquiries and resolving intraday trade issues
Trade Lifecycle & Post-Trade Support
- Investigate and resolve trade breaks, mismatches, or missing fills
- Perform intraday and end-of-day trade and position reconciliation
- Ensure accurate processing of allocations, corrections, and amendments
- Coordinate with brokers, exchanges, and clearing partners to resolve discrepancies
- Support regulatory reporting workflows and validate data completeness
Technical Troubleshooting
- Analyze logs, FIX messages, system metrics, and market data feeds to diagnose issues
- Work with developers and infrastructure teams to resolve production incidents
- Execute runbooks/playbooks to address system alerts and operational problems
- Validate system changes, configuration updates, and software releases
Operational Excellence
- Maintain detailed incident documentation, trade issue logs, and post-mortem reports
- Identify recurring issues and partner with engineering teams to implement long-term fixes
- Build tooling and automation to improve monitoring, reconciliation, and workflow efficiency
- Participate in on-call rotation and market open/close support
Qualifications
- 3–5 years in trade support, production support, or front-office operations (preferably in equities, options, or electronic trading)
- Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, market microstructure, FIX protocol, and electronic order flow
- Proficiency with Linux/Unix command-line tools
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, or similar)
- Ability to troubleshoot under pressure in a live trading environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to support traders and external partners
Salary : $140,000 - $160,000
