Job Summary
The EHS Specialist supports the implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs at the site. This role helps ensure compliance with regulations, promotes a safe work environment, and works with teams to reduce risk and improve safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Workplace Safety:
- Support safe work practices and permit systems for high-risk activities (e.g., lockout/tagout, confined space, working at heights).
- Contractor Safety:
- Assist with contractor onboarding, training, and compliance. Support safety reviews for projects.
- Emergency Response:
- Help maintain emergency plans and participate in drills. Support coordination with local emergency services.
- Auditing & Compliance:
- Conduct audits and inspections. Track and support corrective actions to maintain compliance.
- Risk Assessment:
- Help identify workplace hazards and work with teams to implement safety controls.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify ways to improve safety programs and increase employee engagement.
- Site Security:
- Support basic site security processes, including visitor and contractor management.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental science, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Skills:
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Knowledge of safety regulations and programs
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Experience:
- 2 years in EHS or safety-related role preferred
- Experience with audits or inspections is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Certifications (Preferred):
- ASP, CSP, or similar
Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
